# Heroic Icon Hand Illuminators This Novelty Desktop Lamp Mimics Iron Man's Repulsor By Kyle Towers | Published 2013-03-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/novelty-desktop-lamp References: [obviouswinner](http://www.obviouswinner.com/obvwin/2013/3/11/battle-damaged-iron-man-hand-repulsor-desktop-lamp.html) This epic novelty desktop lamp is a fantastic adaptation from the Iron Man franchise. It uses Iron Man's repulsor to illuminate one's space. For those tempted to high-five and shake the hand: make sure you don't burn yourself by waiting until it cools down first. The hand itself possesses incredible detail, as it appears to be a little beat up from battle. It strays slightly from the actual anatomy of Iron Man, but this adds a nice, customized look. There's no telling how functional it would be considering the light is completely exposed and likely harsh on the eyes, but I would say that is a pretty small price to pay to have a freaking Iron Man hand as a novelty desktop lamp. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Novelty Lamps:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create novelty lamps based on popular fictional characters to appeal to fan bases and create unique, customizable lighting options. - **Replica Merchandise:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design and produce replica merchandise that captures the essence of beloved characters or icons, offering fans a chance to own a piece of their favorite fictional world. - **Customized Desk Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop customized desk accessories that bring elements of popular franchises into the workspace, allowing fans to showcase their fandom in a professional setting. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate popular fictional characters into lighting designs, creating unique and appealing products for fans to decorate their spaces with. - **Merchandising:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Expand the market for replica merchandise by creating high-quality and detailed products that fans would be eager to collect and display. - **Office Supplies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate elements of popular franchises into office supplies, offering unique and customizable options for fans to personalize their workspaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Branded Superhero Gaming Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noblechairs-hero-iron-man-chair.md) - [Superhero-Themed Wireless Earbud Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iron-man-helmet.md) - [Professional CNC-Machined Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hilight-lumenforge.md) - [Multifunctional Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-boring-lamp.md) - [Ambient eSports Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yeslamp-ace.md) - [Customizable Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hilight-r9-desk-lamp.md) - [Diminutive Desktop Hand Warmers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desktop-hand-warmers.md) - [Supplemental Desktop Computer Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/workmate-smart-lamp.md) - [Face Mask-Made Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anonymlux-lamp.md)
