# Art Deco-Inspired Lighting The Novecento Marble Lamp by Davide G Aquini Uses Unorthodox Materials By Meghan Young | Published 2013-07-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/novecento-marble-lamp References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/novecento-marble-table-lamps-by-davide-g-aquini/) & [ad-g.it](http://www.ad-g.it/) It is not everyday people stumble upon lighting like the Novecento Marble Lamp. Separately, the materials and the design might seem somewhat the norm, but together they are completely unorthodox and unexpected. Inspired by the art deco style, the light fixture takes on the geometric shapes of a circle and triangle. The circle is made out of marble while the triangle is fashioned out of metal. Designed by Davide G Aquini, an industrial designer based in Milan, Italy, the Novecento Marble Lamp is available in two versions: black marquinia marble with a brass structure and breccia marble with a green-water finished structure. The light source is hidden behind the disc, creating an eclipse-like glow when turned on. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Unconventional Lighting:** Exploring unconventional materials for lighting fixtures can create unexpected and unique designs. - **Art-deco Resurgence:** The revival of art-deco design can inspire new and innovative products in various industries. - **Hidden Light Source:** Incorporating light sources in unexpected and hidden places can create a magical and surreal effect. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Art-deco lighting can add a touch of glamour and sophistication to any space. - **Product Design:** Exploring unconventional materials and shapes can lead to innovative and surprising product designs. - **Architecture:** Incorporating unique lighting fixtures can enhance the overall aesthetics and atmosphere of a building. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Luxurious Futuristic Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futuristic-table-lamp.md) - [Illuminating Stone-Made Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nau-design.md) - [Modern Marble Waste Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sole-lamp.md) - [Hand-Cast Crystal Glowing Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nola-lamp.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Adaptive Marble Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emit.md) - [Street Light-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-lamp-marble.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md)
