Nothing Design's solar trees are [solar-powered street lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sula) that have been installed in Angkor Wat, Cambodia. The solar trees provide public lighting and increase night-time safety for residents and visitors.

The concept for Nothing Design's solar trees was realized in partnership with Asiana Airlines and [Korea International Cooperation Agency](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intelligent-urban-infrastructure) (KOICA). Because Angkor Wat is a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is popular with tourists. Nighttime lighting has made the area more fun for tourists and increased business income.

**Implications** - Nothing Design's solar trees caused tourists to explore nearby areas quite a bit more. As a result of this increased exploration, markets started popping and many people have been generating a second income. This is really a great concept with many secondary benefits.
