The laptop is characterized by its figurative and literal [transparent design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/visual-instruments-phantom), which appears to run a Windows operating system and expose its internal workings through the casing. The keyboard highlights a pixelated design to highlight the brand's signature dot-matrix-style font. These features give the computer a decidedly [retro-futuristic touch](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1999-keyboard-pc) to balance style with performance. The Nothing Book (1) concept features a 15.6-inch display and is rounded out with a few essential ports including two USB-C ports, a USB-A port and a headphone jack. The unit also boosts a wireless charging coil built right into the section adjacent to the trackpad to accommodate device pairing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 13% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Transparent Laptops:** The trend towards transparent laptops opens up opportunities for brands to showcase their internal workings while maintaining a stylish design. - **Retro-futuristic Design:** The popularity of retro-futuristic design elements in laptops can inspire brands to innovate by combining vintage aesthetics with modern technology. - **Innovative Ports and Features:** The integration of wireless charging and other innovative ports and features in laptops offers disruption opportunities for brands to stand out in a competitive market. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Technology:** The technology industry can capitalize on the trend towards transparent and retro-futuristic laptops by incorporating similar design elements in their products. - **Fashion:** The fashion industry can merge with technology to create designer laptops that prioritize both style and functionality with innovative features such as built-in wireless charging. - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can reimagine traditional laptop design by incorporating transparent and retro-futuristic elements for a unique and innovative user experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Transparent Design Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-1-concept.md) - [Visible Component Smartphone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-1.md) - [Transparent All-Glass Smartwatches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-watch-1.md) - [Transparent Aluminum Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-2-concept.md) - [Transparent Crystalline Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lenovo-project-crystal.md) - [Chic Transparent Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-nothing-phone-1.md) - [Immersive All-Screen Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macbook-folio.md) - [Industrial Collaboration Headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-nothing-headphone-1.md) - [Mini Transparent Smartphone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-mini-phone.md)
