# End Table-Equipped Sofas The Note Design Studio Rise Collection Features Double-Threat Couches By Michael Hines | Published 2014-01-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-design-studio-rise-collection References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2014/01/30/side-table-extends-from-base-of-rise-sofa-by-note-design-studio/) & [notedesignstudio.se](http://notedesignstudio.se/) The Note Design Studio Rise Collection has officially put the side table on notice. The Swedish furniture design company has created a sofa that is also an end table. Technically, the sofa sits on top of what would be considered the table, leaving a small sliver of wood free to function as an end table. The sofa itself is a simple design consisting of a few pieces that look lightweight and easily movable. In addition to the [sofa with a built-in end table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-crate-and-end-table), the Note Design Studio Rise Collection also features a sofa sitting on wood, with a matching ottoman. The ottoman looks like it can also function as a coffee table, should you remove the cushion. The Rise Collection is being shown at the upcoming Stockholm Design Week 2014. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Designing furniture that serves multiple purposes, such as sofas with built-in end tables or ottomans that double as coffee tables. - **Space-saving Solutions:** Creating furniture with more than one use in small spaces, where floor area is at a premium. - **Sleek Minimalism:** Developing furniture designs that are clean, simple and visually light, perfect for modern, uncluttered living spaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Innovating furniture design by creating pieces that have more than one function, adding value to consumers through space-saving solutions. - **Interior Design:** Providing interior designers with innovative and visually appealing options for furnishing smaller spaces, where functionality and aesthetic are equally important. - **Home Decor:** Incorporating innovative furniture designs into home decor collections, providing trendy and space-saving solutions to consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bookcase-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/low-wall-side-table.md) - [Ribbed-Cushioned Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-design.md) - [Built-In Storage Cozy Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cask-sofa.md) - [All-in-One Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rezy-sofa.md) - [Versatile Nesting Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozmo-1.md) - [Dog Bed-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-furniture-design.md) - [Bookshelf-Incorporated Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/overlap-table.md) - [Perplexingly Angular Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tadashi-side-table.md) - [Personality-Enhancing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ordo-book.md)
