It maintains an almost all-wood interior that is warm and inviting. Yet the predominance of floor-to-ceiling windows as well as top-notch amenities including a stunning fireplace, sleek kitchen space and spaciously modern bedroom really classes up the joint. Designed by [DeForest Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burien), the North Lake Wenatchee House is located in Washington State. Bridging two worlds with natural ease, the residence also has a secret room that is accessed through a doorway that has been disguised as a bookshelf. Clever and playful, it adds an old world charm to the contemporary design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.4/10 - Popularity: 100% | Activity: 83% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Luxurious Rustic Cabins:** Rustic cabins that combine natural materials and a luxurious aesthetic are growing in popularity, offering potential opportunities for upscale cabin rentals or premium cabin design services. - **Disguised Interior Features:** Designing hidden interior features, such as the secret room in the North Lake Wenatchee House, can add an element of surprise and charm to modern homes, presenting an opportunity for creative interior design firms. - **Floor-to-ceiling Windows:** The use of floor-to-ceiling windows in rustic cabins provides a seamless connection to nature while offering ample natural light, presenting opportunities for window manufacturers and eco-friendly home builders. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Luxury Tourism:** The rise of luxurious rustic cabins may present opportunities for high-end tourism companies to offer unique cabin rental experiences. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating clever, hidden interior features like the secret room in the North Lake Wenatchee House, could present new opportunities for creative interior design firms. - **Window Manufacturing:** The use of floor-to-ceiling windows in rustic cabins provides a unique architectural feature for window manufacturers to capitalize on, along with the eco-friendly movement in home building. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Prefabricated Timber Barn Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/north-fork.md) - [Tranquil Nature-Centric Cabin Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nortehaus.md) - [River Retreat Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wenatchee-river-cabin.md) - [Modern Mountainous Luxury Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robert-chisholm-architects.md) - [Moody Industrial Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pattern-house.md) - [Pavilion-Style Lakeside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clearwater-lake-retreat.md) - [Rustic Contemporary Bunkhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guemes-island-bunkhouse.md) - [Charred Wood Mountain Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alexander-jermyn-architecture.md) - [Blackened Timber Tranquil Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hideaway-house.md)
