A series of [modern and minimalist wooden benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/us-her-him) with [mini built-in gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-ecological-design), the Noriega Street Parklet doesn't need to beg to have someone spend a little quality time with it. Designed by Matarozzi Pelsinger Design + Build, the Noriega Street Parklet is located in San Francisco, California. Three of them were built to date, each one replacing a parking space. Sharply angular, the design creates a mini sanctuary to rest and relax in without blocking out the sights and sounds of the city being enjoyed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modern Minimalist Design:** Opportunity for businesses to create products and spaces that embrace clean lines, simplicity, and functionality. - **Urban Public Space Revitalization:** Opportunity for businesses to contribute to the development of attractive and functional public spaces that enhance the livability of cities. - **Integration of Nature in Urban Environments:** Opportunity for businesses to incorporate green spaces and natural elements into urban design, promoting well-being and sustainability. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in creating innovative and sustainable designs for public spaces. - **Furniture and Outdoor Equipment:** Opportunities to develop modern and minimalist seating solutions that incorporate green spaces and mini-gardens. - **Urban Planning and Development:** Opportunities to collaborate with government agencies and organizations in revitalizing urban public spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Public Bench Interpretation Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/works-in-progress-iii.md) - [Playful Public Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playful-public-seating.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Sleek Public Seating Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench.md) - [City-Honoring Furniture Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/symbiotic-urban-furniture-project.md) - [Public-Oriented Furniture Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-for-public-use.md) - [Interactive Purposeful Urban Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-furniture1.md) - [Modular Outdoor Space Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mass-public-bench.md) - [Book-Inspired Public Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sit-down-to-read.md)
