# Sinuous Ceiling Fixtures Nomad Modular Lighting Can be Fastened into Fluid Arrangements By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-12-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomad-modular-lighting References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/Nomad/1111005) To throw off the rigid right angle geometries of the modern office, Nomad Modular Lighting can be installed to take on the most original and [organic shapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp) below those boring rectangular ceiling tiles. The [sleek circular lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nova-light) may be affixed along arbitrary trajectories or more logical service lines, creating a sense of smooth continuity without requiring a great degree of permanence. The graceful Emre Girgin concept is the result of a collaboration with Arlight and Artful Design Studio which establishes a spatial freedom that few illuminators are afforded. The electrical connection needs only be set up directly through the first fixture in a Nomad Modular Lighting series because a line of wires links each together, concealed by thin curving plates. The elegant system can adapt to unlimited variations of meandering formations. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop modular lighting systems that can be easily rearranged and adapted to various configurations, providing flexibility and creativity in office spaces. - **Organic Shapes:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design lighting fixtures that break away from rigid right angles and embrace organic and fluid shapes, enhancing the aesthetics and ambiance of work environments. - **Spatial Freedom:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create lighting solutions that offer spatial freedom, allowing for unlimited variations of meandering formations, enabling architects and designers to create unique and dynamic spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new materials and technologies to revolutionize the lighting industry by creating versatile and customizable lighting solutions. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate unconventional lighting fixtures into interior design projects to create visually stunning and functional spaces that defy traditional design norms. - **Architecture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with architects to incorporate innovative lighting systems that allow for freedom of spatial arrangement, bringing unique and captivating designs to life. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Power Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomad-collection-1.md) - [Unconventional Modular Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-kaleido-series.md) - [Modular LED Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilo-lamp.md) - [Playful Minimal Suspended Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomnom-light.md) - [Glowing Tubular Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/array-lighting.md) - [Customizable Acoustic Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizble-acoustic-lighting-system.md) - [Infinitely Expandable Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cube-one-table-lamp.md) - [Artistic Ribbon-Like Ceiling Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-fellas-ceiling-light.md) - [Linear Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superwire.md)
