# Sophisticated Skateboard Seating The Nollie Flip Bench by Skate-Home Makes Seats Out of Gear By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-04-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nollie-flip-bench-by-skatehome References: [trndnation](http://trndnation.com/nollie-flip-bench-by-skate-home/) & [skate-home](http://www.skate-home.com/en/products/stools/nollie-flip) If you take a moment to appreciate the versatile shape of the skateboard, then the Nollie Flip Bench by Skate-Home will make a whole lot of sense. Using the board of the gear to create a seating, the Nollie Flip Bench by Skate-Home is a completely unconventional piece of decor that will fit in with any surroundings. Available in four different colors and crafted from quality Canadian Maple wood, the Nollie Flip Bench by Skate-Home is ready to enter any space and seamlessly become part of the family. I'm picturing this eclectic piece of eccentric seating in an entry way for taking off/putting on shoes or off to the side in an expansive loft as extra seating when guests pop over. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Skateboard Furniture:** Opportunity for creating innovative furniture pieces using skateboard parts. - **Functional Decor:** Opportunity to combine functionality and aesthetics in home decor. - **Sustainable Materials:** Opportunity for using sustainable materials such as Canadian Maple wood in furniture design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor companies to explore unique and unconventional furniture designs. - **Skateboarding:** Opportunity for skateboarding companies to diversify their product offerings by collaborating with furniture designers. - **Sustainable Furniture:** Opportunity for sustainable furniture manufacturers to incorporate unconventional materials like skateboard parts in their designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Industrial Wrapped Plywood Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-bench.md) - [Sustainable Paper-Infused Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/detalji-bench.md) - [Sleek Public Seating Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench.md) - [Paper Cord-Wrapped Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-bench.md) - [Leather Strap Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stacked-bench.md) - [Contemporary Customization Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-benches.md) - [Chic Recycled Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bello-bench.md) - [Sculptural Gravity Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md)
