# Phone-Mouse Hybrids The Nokia CORE Phone Doubles as a PC Peripheral By Katherinev123 | Published 2009-10-17 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nokia-core-phone References: [thedesignblog.org](http://www.thedesignblog.org/entry/nokia-core-phone-acts-as-computer-mouse-to-access-its-own-interface/) If a phone and a mouse (the PC kind, not the furry variety) mated and had a child, the result would be the Nokia CORE phone. For the person who prefers convenience and utility, the Nokia CORE phone is both a mobile phone and a computer mouse. To me, it doesn’t get any better than that. While I could do without its 'Star Wars'-inspired graphics, the Nokia CORE phone’s solar system interface—in which all of its functions revolve around the core—is pretty neat. According to The Design Blog, when you put the phone face down on a flat surface, it automatically turns into a functional PC mouse, transferring the interface and content to the screen of the nearest computer via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Phone-mouse Hybrids:** The Nokia CORE Phone combines the functionality of a mobile phone and a computer mouse, offering convenience and utility. - **Solar System Interface:** The Nokia CORE Phone's interface, where functions revolve around the core, provides a unique and visually appealing user experience. - **Phone-to-pc Connectivity:** The Nokia CORE Phone's ability to transfer its interface and content to the screen of a nearby computer via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth opens up opportunities for seamless integration between devices. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Mobile Technology:** Manufacturers of mobile devices can explore the concept of integrating phone and computer mouse functionalities to create innovative products. - **Consumer Electronics:** Companies in the consumer electronics industry can leverage the solar system interface concept to develop visually immersive and engaging user interfaces. - **Wireless Connectivity:** Companies specializing in wireless technologies can capitalize on the phone-to-PC connectivity feature to enhance the seamless integration between mobile devices and computers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifunctional Foldable Mobile Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/move-mobile-device.md) - [Modular Wireless Computer Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-nova.md) - [Flatpack Computer Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morph-wireless-mouse.md) - [Whale-Inspired PC Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orca-mouse-concept.md) - [Folding Ambidextrous Mouse Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microsoft-form-travel-mouse.md) - [Screen-Equipped Computer Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-mouse-touch.md) - [Stone-Inspired Tech Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smooth-mouse-concept.md) - [Steampunk Multifunctional Computer Mouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/d-mouse.md) - [Triple Operating System Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nex-computing-nexphone.md)
