The sounds and clicks of the typewriter are replicated on any laptop by downloading the Noisy Typer Laptop App. The [vintage-sounding app](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-technology-tech-brand-kickbacks-discman-is-nostalgic) makes your computer feel old-timey without giving up any of the function of your modern day laptop computer. The app is free and the video explains how it was built and used. The hilarious end of the demonstrator's video gives mad props to the "first person to post a video of the Noisy Typer in a [Starbucks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starbucks-x-hello-kitty) or Cafe." The convertible application works with Word, email and the Web -- meaning that you can enjoy the sound of your typewriter-like apparatus any time you are using your keyboard. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Vintage-inspired Technology:** Opportunity for creating more apps and gadgets that combine modern functionality with nostalgic aesthetics. - **Auditory User Experience:** Potential for developing applications that enhance the sound aspect of user interactions, adding an element of nostalgia or immersion. - **Retro Computing Revival:** A chance to explore the resurgence of interest in retro computing, leading to a market for vintage-inspired computer accessories and software. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Technology:** Possibility for tech companies to create a line of retro-themed computer accessories and applications. - **Gaming:** Opportunity for game developers to design nostalgic gaming experiences that incorporate vintage computer sounds. - **Advertising:** Potential for advertisers to leverage the nostalgia trend by incorporating vintage computing aesthetics and sounds in their campaigns. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retrofuturism Laptop Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-laptop-concept.md) - [Advanced Antiquated Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/azio-mkretro-typewriterstyle-mechanical-keyboard.md) - [Nostalgic 90s Keyboard Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/class-1800-mechanical-keyboard.md) - [Typing Sound Effects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keyboard-sounds.md) - [Nostalgic Audio Interfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cassetteone.md) - [Distraction-Free Writing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/typewritist.md) - [Retro Digital Flip Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-clock1.md) - [Retro Software DIY Handhelds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-windows-98.md) - [Distraction-Free Digital Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/micro-journal.md)
