# Broken Stone Settees The Noe Duchaufour Lawrance 'Borghese Sofa' Looks Rugged but Comfy By Senduran Bhakthakumaran | Published 2012-04-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noe-duchaufour-lawrance-borghese-sofa References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2012/04/20/borghese-sofa-by-noe-duchaufour-lawrance-for-la-chance/borghese_200412_03/) & [lachance.fr](http://www.lachance.fr/product/details/10/borghese) Modern interior design now has an added flavor of Mother Nature with the Noe Duchaufour Lawrance 'Borghese Sofa.' Its design looks completely natural and equally stunning. This is a sofa that has been built in memory of the stone pines of the [Villa Borghese](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smarts-place) in Roma. The legs and back pieces are made of metal and look like spindly branches holding the stony cushions together. It is a great way to contrast the rugged feel of stone with a comfortable feel of cushioned seats. It presents the sofa in a hard exterior perfect for solid modern home design, while also reminding patrons that it is [nestling seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo). The sofa's backrest is not one solid piece; instead, it has been split into three different pieces that have minute space between them. This is what brings out the couch's [stony appeal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebble-stool). For those who wish to embody nature in their interior design, this Noe Douchaufour Lawrance piece is the finest. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Naturalistic Furniture:** Opportunity for designers to incorporate nature-inspired elements into furniture for a unique and visually appealing aesthetic. - **Mixing Materials:** Opportunity to experiment with combining seemingly contrasting materials for a modern and edgy design. - **Customized Comfort:** Opportunity to offer personalized cushioning options to cater to different levels of comfort preferences for furniture. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to incorporate natural elements into their designs for a unique and modern look. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to experiment with mixing materials and textures for a visually appealing and modern aesthetic. - **Architecture:** Opportunity for architects and builders to incorporate nature-inspired elements into their designs for a more cohesive and natural look. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Inspired Rocky Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebble-rubble.md) - [Stacked Pebble-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/figure-sofa-and-lounge-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Latticed Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gardiners-sofa.md) - [Snowfall-Inspired Sofa Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowhouse-sofa.md) - [Laidback Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/natuzzi-bao.md) - [Organically Shaped Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repose-sofa.md) - [Vibrant Modern Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-grande-muraglia-outdoor.md) - [Curvy Segmented Outdoor Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/segmented-outdoor-sofa.md) - [Bold Flowing Couch Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plyn-sofa.md)
