Designed by Ilseop Yoon, the chair is characterized by its [angular construction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yay-chair) that appears somewhat rigid at first glance. The chair, however, reveals a far more relaxed aesthetic when sat in thanks to its ability to shift ever so slightly back and forth. This will provide a sense of easiness that could prove to be a better option for those who find traditional rocking chairs too aggressive for their liking. The 'Nodding Chair' is accented by a [footstool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-bun) that encourages the person to put their feet up, relax and unwind without having to sacrifice the look of their space for a conventional rocking chair. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 11% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modernized Furniture Design:** Opportunity for innovation in modernizing classic furniture designs by adding ease and relaxation features. - **Ergonomic Home Office Furniture:** Opportunity for innovation in designing home office furniture that provides comfort and relaxation for long hours of sitting and working. - **Sustainable Material Furniture:** Opportunity for innovation in using sustainable materials in modern furniture design for a more eco-friendly option. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturing companies to offer more modern and ergonomic designs in response to changing consumer preferences. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior design companies to offer their clients more comfortable and modernized furniture options that fit their aesthetic preferences. - **Retail:** Opportunity for retail stores to capitalize on the trend of modernized furniture designs and offer unique and comfortable furniture options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Movement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbl-rocking-chair.md) - [Wooden Lounge Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nice-chair.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [All-Direction Wobbling Rocking Chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbling-rocking-chair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-rocking-chair.md) - [Functional Decorative Rocking Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rool-stool.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Pouffe Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/platero.md) - [Motion Blur-Inspired Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fast-rocking-chair.md) - [Rocking Table-Mounted Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/espattio-platero-rocking-table.md)
