According to the Quran, the book should never be allowed to touch the ground, so Rafael used this thought as a source of inspiration for his design. "The belief has been abstracted and illustrated by the roof element that embodies the holy pages of the Quran resting on the four buildings which reflect the human hand," as stated on DesignBoom. The result is a roof that seems to float in mid-air, and takes on a [futuristic aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquapraa). The submissions for the Noble Quran Oasis competition are still rolling in, so it will be sometime before the finalist is decided.
