# Chicken Vending Machines The NOAH Egg Machine Shows the Plight of Chicken in Factory Farms By Michael Hines | Published 2011-05-13 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noah-egg-machine References: [technabob](http://technabob.com/blog/2011/05/09/chicken-vending-machine/) & [noah.de](http://www.noah.de/wp/eggmachine/) The [NOAH](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/craft-starter-kit) Egg Machine was recently unleashed onto the streets of an unnamed English-speaking country (possibly America) in an attempt to show people the living conditions of chickens in factory farms. The NOAH Egg Machine was filled with chickens who ironically came from a [free-range farm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-bros-gloriously-golden). Curious onlookers could see for themselves just how terrible it is to be a chicken whose sole mission is to lay eggs all day. The quarters were cramped, but even they were generous by [factory farm standards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-bros-roost-eggs) with only one chicken occupying each section. The NOAH Egg Machine is easily one of the smartest attacks against the techniques of factory farmers that I have ever seen. NOAH made a public spectacle without making fools of themselves, keeping their message intact and creating an interesting viral video in the process. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Factory Farm Awareness:** The NOAH Egg Machine trend brings attention to the need for more ethical farming practices. - **Animal Welfare Technology:** The NOAH Egg Machine trend highlights the potential for technology to improve living conditions for animals in farming. - **Sustainable Agriculture:** The NOAH Egg Machine trend showcases the growing demand for sustainable and humane agricultural practices. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Agriculture:** This trend highlights opportunities for the agriculture industry to adopt more sustainable and humane farming practices. - **Technology:** This trend showcases the potential for technology to be used in the pursuit of animal welfare and ethical farming practices. - **Food Retail:** This trend creates an opportunity for the food retail industry to respond to consumer demand for more sustainable and ethical food production methods. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mobile Chicken Coops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/automated-range-coop.md) - [Smart Backyard Chicken Coops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-smart-coop.md) - [Smart-Designed Chicken Coops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartdesigned-chicken-coops.md) - [Meatless Vending Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meatless-farm-apm.md) - [Tech-Driven Poultry Equipment Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hatching-time.md) - [Animal Welfare Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/food-lion1.md) - [Cage-Free Chicken Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-chookery.md) - [Off-Beat Shellfish Vending Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/farm-suzuki.md) - [Fried Chicken Vending Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-tokyo-hot-crispy.md)
