The No Family Life solo exhibit may have been a fire hazard, but that didn't stop Paris-based artist Claire Fontaine nor the Air de Paris gallery from holding it. Comprised of large-scale matchstick artworks that may even put [Shaikh Salimbhai](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shaikh-salimbhai-taj-mahal)'s intricate sculptures to shame, the show focuses on making political and societal statements.

For instance, the No Family Life solo exhibit featured a matchstick art piece that formed a map of France. According to the artist, "The work evokes the fragile political balance in the country and constitutes a danger in its unburnt state because anyone could light the fire," and that is exactly what she does. Another installation spelled out the word 'consumption' using a mind-boggling 100,000 matchsticks.
