# Solar-Powered Personal Cameras The Sun & Cloud No Battery Camera Performs Rain or Shine By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-03-24 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/no-battery-camera References: [iainclaridge](http://www.iainclaridge.co.uk/blog/29149) & [superheadz](http://www.superheadz.com/sunandcloud/) I find it super annoying when my camera runs out of battery and don't like the bulk of extra batteries when I'm traveling or on vacation, which is why the Sun & Cloud no battery camera is so appealing to me. It doesn't need any batteries, nor does it need to be plugged in to get power, this camera is a self-sufficient device. A large [solar panel on the top](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eufycam-s4) takes in natural energy from the sun, causing little harm to the environment. But what if it's a cloudy day, you ask? Well never fear because this no battery camera comes with a backup plan; a hand crank that you turn manually in order to power it up. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Solar-powered Cameras:** Opportunity to disrupt the camera industry through the creation of sustainable, self-sufficient devices. - **No Battery Devices:** Opportunity to create innovative, eco-friendly products that eliminate the need for disposable batteries. - **Power-generating Devices:** Opportunity to create self-powering devices that can operate in any environment without the need for external power sources. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can benefit from the creation of eco-friendly, self-sufficient devices that reduce waste and increase convenience. - **Sustainability:** The sustainability industry can benefit from the development of products that help reduce environmental impact while still providing value to consumers. - **Outdoor Recreation:** The outdoor recreation industry can benefit from the creation of durable, self-powering devices that can operate in any environment, making activities like camping and hiking more convenient and eco-friendly. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar-Powered Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-security-camera.md) - [Cellular Off-Grid Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eufy-4g-lte-cam-s330.md) - [Low-Cost Solar-Powered Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyze-solar-cam-pan.md) - [Solar Charging Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-charging-security-camera.md) - [Dual-Camera Security Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eufy-solocam-s340.md) - [4G-Connected Solar Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imou-aov-solar-panel-camera.md) - [Battery-Powered Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/battery-camera-and-battery-camera-plus.md) - [Solar-Powered 5G Surveillance Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-condor-cameras.md) - [Solar-Powered Remote Controls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omni-remotes-model-p.md)
