# Eccentric Cabinet Doors The No. 216 Sideboard is Inspired by A-Series Paper Standards By Meghan Young | Published 2012-04-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/no-216-sideboard References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/no-216-sideboard-by-jesper-stahl-for-voice/) & [jesperdesign.se](http://www.jesperdesign.se/no-216-for-voice.html) The No. 216 Sideboard is playfully eccentric. It might have a rectangular silhouette that is typical of such furniture pieces, but the similarities essentially end there. What at first appears to be a modern block pattern on the sideboard's doors is actually the individual doors and drawers that open up into variously sized compartments. Created by Swedish designer Jesper Ståhl for Voice, a furniture manufacturer based in Sweden and part of the Lammhults Design Group, the eccentric doors to the No. 216 Sideboard are inspired by A-series paper standards, from A0 to A8. Colorful and quirky, the No. 216 Sideboard is available in three different colorways: shades of green, shades of purple and all-white. It is made out of wood veneer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Eccentric Furniture Design:** Exploring unconventional and playful design elements for furniture pieces, creating unique and eye-catching products. - **Modular Storage Solutions:** Utilizing compartmentalized doors and drawers to provide customizable storage options, maximizing organization and practicality in furniture design. - **Incorporating Graphic Patterns in Furniture:** Integrating visually striking patterns and designs on furniture doors and drawers to add visual interest and enhance the overall aesthetic. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to differentiate their products by incorporating eccentric and visually appealing designs. - **Interior Design:** Innovative furniture options that incorporate graphic patterns can offer interior designers a wide range of creative choices for their clients. - **Home Decor Retail:** Retailers can capitalize on the trend of eccentric furniture design by offering unique and eye-catching pieces that cater to consumers seeking bold and unconventional home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Curved Base Plywood Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-embrace-sideboard.md) - [Curvaceous Storage-Packed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/embrace-sideboard.md) - [Textured Oak Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nick-james.md) - [Twisted Wooden Boxed Sideboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deniz-aktay.md) - [Nature-Inspired Mesmerizing Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/genipadu-sideboard.md) - [Redefined Modern Sideboard Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tacito-sideboard.md) - [Anthropomorphic Design Dining Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sideboard-dining-table.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md) - [Stylish Oakwood Storage Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moose-cabinet.md)
