# Golden Undulating Workspaces The Nitska Desk by Nuvist is Fit for the Gods By Meghan Young | Published 2014-01-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nitska-desk References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2014/01/16/undulating-desk/) & [nuvist](http://www.nuvist.com/works/nitstka/) The Nitska Desk looks like a workspace for the gods. Or, more specifically, the office coordinator of the gods, if there ever was such a divine position. With its [sleek undulating surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flow-set) and golden finish, it is hard not to think of a heavenly purpose. Although the rich look would also be suitable for the reception of a Donald Trump building, the Nitska Desk boasts too much of a modern aesthetic, which is nevertheless a good thing. Designed by [Nuvist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreala-lamps), an architectural and design studio based in Istanbul, Turkey, and founded by Emrah Cetinkaya, the Nitska Desk is inspired by [wave and water formations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables). According to the designer, "Curvilinear lines, outer skin and functionality are blended in continuous three dimensional surface for first attraction points of receptions which are for hotels, companies, exhibitions even if presentations." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Curvilinear Design:** The use of curvilinear designs in furniture could disrupt traditional straight-line designs. - **Gold Finish:** The use of gold finishes in furniture could disrupt traditional materials and color palettes. - **Inspired by Nature:** The use of natural inspirations in furniture design could disrupt traditional artificial aesthetics. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers could disrupt the industry by incorporating curvilinear designs, gold finishes, and natural inspirations in their products. - **Hotel and Reception Design:** Hotel and reception designers could disrupt the industry by incorporating the visually striking Nitska Desk design into their spaces. - **Luxury Real Estate Development:** Luxury real estate developers could disrupt the industry by incorporating furniture designs with a gold finish and curvilinear lines into their high-end properties. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Monochromatic Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arqus-desk.md) - [Minimalist Gradient Glass Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-desk.md) - [Floating Architectural Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1949-protractor-desk.md) - [Hyper-Customizable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hypercustomizable-desk.md) - [Sleek Storage-Packed Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threesix-desk.md) - [Bronze Luxury Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bronze-lilith-table.md) - [Single-Piece Construction Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nook-desk.md) - [Minimalist Storage-Friendly Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-desk.md) - [Ultra-Minimalist Elegant Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elegant-desk-design.md)
