The smartphone would follow on the brand's signature design language to make the device perfect for avid fans who are always eager to try out the latest technology. The smartphone thus maintains an almost toy-like aesthetic that is paired with [colorful backplates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-classic) to let users customize it with available styles. The Nintendo Phone concept imagines a device that will likely never be given the namesake brand's proclivity for [video game consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sup-game-box-400) and little else to help maintain a tight ecosystem where fans can bask in the nostalgia. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 11% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Branded Gaming Smartphones:** There is an opportunity for gaming hardware brands to expand their business by developing their own branded smartphones that cater to avid fans who are always eager to try out the latest technology. - **Customizable Mobile Devices:** Hardware companies can innovate by providing users the ability to customize their smartphones with interchangeable colorful backplates and other personalization options. - **Nostalgic Aesthetics:** Brands can appeal to users with a strong sense of nostalgia by incorporating signature design language and almost toy-like aesthetics in their hardware products. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Gaming Hardware:** Gaming hardware companies have an opportunity to expand their business by developing branded smartphones that cater to their avid fans. - **Mobile Devices:** Mobile device companies can take advantage of the consumer's desire for personalization by offering customizable smartphones. - **Consumer Electronics:** Consumer electronics companies can tap into the market of users who have a strong sense of nostalgia by designing hardware with signature aesthetics reminiscent of iconic brands like Nintendo. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gaming Console Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-switch-phone-concept.md) - [Meta Mobile Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-switch-small-invader.md) - [High-End Mobile Gamer Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-handheld-game-console.md) - [Modular Next-Gen Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-switoo.md) - [Projector-Equipped Handheld Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-game-boy-concept.md) - [Smartphone-Like Gaming Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-arcade-pro.md) - [Ergonomic Mobile Console Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-nintendo-switch-2.md) - [Nostalgic Gaming Console Radios](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nintendo-radio.md) - [Smartphone-Like Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xbox-series-a.md)
