The photographs involve musicians and their instruments engaged in a variety of visually compelling (albeit physically impossible) activities. Through a combination of pristine photographaphy and brilliant photo editing, Nikolaj Lund is able to transform the somewhat conservative image of classical music players into something more imaginative and playful. Sitting on invisible benches, floating over top water and throwing one's stand-up base from a sand dune are just a few of the compelling visuals created by the artist. Just because orchestral composers and music players don't populate the front cover of [Rolling Stones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aircard-pro-and-airnotch-pro) or make it into headlines due to scandalous behavior, shouldn't entail that they don't have any spark. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Surrealistic Classical Music Portraits:** Opportunity for artists to transform traditional representations of classical music and musicians into imaginative and playful visuals. - **Magical Realism Photography in Music Industry:** Opportunity for photographers to infuse the music industry with surreal and fantastical elements in their work. - **Innovative Visual Storytelling for Classical Music:** Opportunity for musicians to incorporate visually compelling storytelling into classical music performances and marketing. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Photographers can use techniques such as photo editing to bring a touch of magic surrealism to classical music imagery. - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can draw inspiration from these surrealistic classical music portraits to create unique artwork and designs. - **Classical Music:** Classical music industry can adopt and incorporate innovative visual elements such as storytelling, fantasy themes, and magical realism in performances and marketing efforts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Immersive Light Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Instrument-Inspired Wall Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-collection-by-sara-schoenberger.md) - [Music-Inspired Glass Blown Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miles-pendant.md) - [Futuristic Abstract Musical Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeta-electric-guitar.md) - [Orchestral-Themed Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/symphony-collection.md) - [Tape Deck Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-folklore.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md)
