# Abstract Firework Photography Nick Pacione Used Macro Photography to Capture Stunning Images By Sarah St.Jules | Published 2013-09-01 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nick-pacione References: [thisiscolossal](http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2013/08/explosions-in-the-sky-nick-pacione/) & [nickpacione](http://www.nickpacione.com/) Last fourth of July, Nick Pacione watched a firework show and used a camera technique in order to take stunning illuminated pictures. These pictures were taken with a macro lens, and he used a technique called rack focus. This technique changes the focus of the picture, and that is how he was able to create the effects displayed. This series is entitled Explosions in the Sky, and the abstract shapes that have been produced are incredible. Although you can tell that this is a firework show, it looks as though there are other pieces of installation art that have also been included in the shot. Nick Pacione has created a gorgeous series that blurs the line between commonly viewed images, and ones that have been altered and are unrecognizable. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 52% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Macro Firework Photography:** Opportunities for photographers to explore new techniques and create stunning imagery of fireworks using macro lenses and rack focus. - **Abstract Firework Art:** Opportunities for artists to create abstract art inspired by firework displays. - **Interactive Firework Displays:** Opportunities for event organizers to incorporate interactive installation art into firework shows to create a unique experience. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Opportunities for photographers to experiment with new techniques to capture stunning images of firework displays. - **Art:** Opportunities for artists to draw inspiration from firework displays and create abstract art. - **Event Planning:** Opportunities for event planning companies to create unique firework displays that incorporate interactive installation art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Blurry Abstract Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-allusion.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [Multi-Lens Capture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-walker-multi-cam.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Photography Project Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1.md) - [Night Photography Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oppo-find-x5.md) - [Pro-Grade Smartphone Photography Controls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miops-spark.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md)
