Crafted from oak, the sideboard features vertically oriented doors with flowing, wave-like relief patterns that highlight the material’s natural grain. The carved surfaces create shifting shadows as light moves across the façade, while the cabinet body remains clean-lined and restrained. The piece is supported by a minimal base that gives the form a light, slightly elevated presence. Inside, the sideboard includes an adjustable shelf intended to accommodate a range of storage needs, from dining items to household objects. The sideboard is designed and made by British furniture maker Nick James, whose work focuses on material expression and woodworking technique. The doors are carved to encourage physical interaction without the use of applied ornament or hardware.
