[Toyota](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toyota-prius-prime) launched the 3rd generation [Prius](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2023-prius) hybrid sedan this morning at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Top new specs include mileage of 50 MPG (beating the 2nd generation 46 MPG), has a zero-to-60 time of 9.8 seconds, and a very low coefficient of drag.

The new Prius is 90% newly-developed and the body has been tweaked. Compared with the 2nd generation, the roof was elongated and the back of the vehicle has a new look. Now that over one million Prius vehicles are on the road, this is just the next step in one of Toyota’s many successes.
