100 Norfolk Street is the home of a new luxury New York residence that appears to defy gravity. Designed by local firm [ODA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terrarium-cheongdam), it is a [top-heavy glass building](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diller-scofidio-renfro2) that will become a visual staple in the neighborhood. With 38 residential units over 12 floors, the New York residence is a big change from what it used to be.

Once the site for the refrigerators of renowned kosher deli Ratner's, the Lower East Side New York residence occupies a tight space. Yet there is nothing that contain this stunning design. Its [cantilevered silhouette](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brutal-honesty) allowed for the creation of two large green terraces, granting residents a lush area to enjoy in the middle of the concrete jungle that is the Big Apple.
