Having a drink at a bar or enjoying a meal at a restaurant will look a little bit different as businesses implement new ways of operating to protect public health and the new normal for restaurants is already being implemented. In Amsterdam, Mediamatic ETEN is a [waterfront vegan restaurant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canal-restaurant) that's inviting guests to dine within [individual outdoor greenhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-greenhouse-is-your-kitchen). The enclosed glass structures are just large enough to accommodate groups of two to three diners, which helps to keep gatherings small.

Where possible, restaurants may rely on [outdoor dining experiments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plumbago-restaurant) to ensure that both patrons and staff have enough space to continue observing social distancing. As Mediamatic’s founding partner Willem Velthoven says, "This was one of the most feasible ideas from a large list of ideas we had when brainstorming. We have other, bigger greenhouses, but using them depends on how everything ends up going."
