UK-based designer Bethan Gray is known to be highly inspired by [Islamic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nakkas-boytu) architecture, and this is certainly the case with her new furniture collection. Dubbed the Shamsian Collection, due to the fact that it is part of a collaboration with Iranian artist Mohamad Reza Shamsian, this new collection is inspired by the [craftsmanship and architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodcarving-heritage) of the Middle Eastern state of Oman.

This new furniture collection includes pieces like the Dhow table, named after the [traditional boats of Oman](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sampan) that are often used for fishing. Accordingly, this table mimics the distinct shape of dhow sails. There's also the Nizwa cabinet, which is named after a famous Omani fort and is hand-colored.

By blending elements of Omani architecture with modern design cues, the Shamsian Collection successfully excites the eye and will appeal to lovers of exotic design.
