Superficially, a security siren might seem like it needs little more than to make noise when a trespasser enters. But the Netatmo Indoor Security Siren's multiple features show the value of having customizable options in one's [home security system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residential-security-system). For one, the 110 decibel can be activated or silenced directly through the homeowner's smartphone, making it easy to prevent false alarms. The siren also connects to Netatmo's 'Welcome' [security camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-nest-cams), which is equipped with facial recognition. If the Welcome spots an unknown face entering the house, it can send users an alert and give them the option to sound the siren. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Customizable Security Systems:** The Netatmo Indoor Security Siren's multiple programmable options show the value of a customizable home security system. - **Smart Home Security:** The integration of the Netatmo Indoor Security Siren with Netatmo's 'Welcome' security camera demonstrates the potential of smart home security systems. - **Mobile-enabled Security:** Being able to activate or silence the Netatmo Indoor Security Siren directly through a homeowner's smartphone highlights the importance of mobile-enabled security features. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Security:** The Netatmo Indoor Security Siren is a disruptive innovation for the home security industry, as it offers both customization and smart integration features. - **Mobile Security:** The mobile-enabled control options of the Netatmo Indoor Security Siren could potentially disrupt the mobile security industry by setting a precedent for more mobile-integrated security solutions. - **Smart Home Devices:** The Netatmo Indoor Security Siren's integration with other smart home devices like Netatmo's 'Welcome' security camera demonstrates the potential for disruption in the smart home device industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connected Home Security Sensors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-security-sensor.md) - [Live-Enabled Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/simplisafe-1.md) - [Smart Home Security Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-home-security-solution.md) - [Smart Home Doorbell Chimes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arlo-chime-2.md) - [Mobile Security System Sensors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-security-device.md) - [Integrable Home Alarm Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ring-alarm.md) - [AI-Enabled Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-security-camera-series-2.md) - [Sound-Monitoring Security Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/earzz-smart-home-monitor.md) - [Ultra-Secure Connected Door Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/netatmo-smart-door-lock-and-keys.md)
