Created by Dutch artist Wannes Goetschalckx, Nest (Home Part 2) features more than a few birdhouses stacked and arranged cleverly into a tree. But this project isn't just for looks; representing the problems of [urban overcrowding](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/host), it is currently being displayed in Amsterdam's Galerie West. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Urban Overcrowding Art:** Creating art installations that highlight urban crowding and spark conversations on solutions to this global issue - **Functional Home Decor:** Designing home decor items that have functional uses beyond aesthetics, such as the Branching Birdhouses that serve as shelter for birds while improving the home's aesthetic appeal - **Eco-friendly Home Decor:** Developing sustainable and environmentally friendly home decor items, like the Branching Birdhouses which are made from repurposed materials and provide shelter to birds ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art:** Bringing attention to social issues and stimulating discussions through innovative art installations, like Nest (Home Part 2) - **Home Decor:** Creating functional and eco-friendly home decor items that enhance aesthetics and contribute to environmental conservation - **Sustainable Architecture:** Building sustainable homes and communities that integrate with the natural environment and promote ecological balance, inspired by the Branching Birdhouses design ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Interactive Observation Wooden Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/domik-ptashki.md) - [Modernism Birdhouse Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dwellings-project.md) - [Birdhouse-Integrated Address Signs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/our-common-house.md) - [Greenery-Surrounding Lush Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-house-1.md) - [Elevated Treetop Modern Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buitenverblijf-nest.md) - [Futuristic Curved Islandic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-nest-2.md) - [Educational Linoleum Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elvi-birdhouse.md) - [Sustainable Bird House Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-bird.md) - [Birdhouse-Resembling Narrow Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-birdhouse.md)
