# Webbed Steel Seating The Nest by Kirv Lets Natural Light Seep In By Meghan Young | Published 2012-03-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-by-kirv References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/006325.html) & [kirv](http://www.kirv.co.uk/products/kirv-nest/) The Nest by Kirv looks like a twine of metal has become irrevocably tangled. Nevertheless, there is order to this seemingly chaotic mess. The [web of electro-polished stainless steel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barred-collection) has been artfully manipulated to form a stunning [bucket chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-chair-designs) that doesn't shut out the outside world like traditional ones do. Designed and handmade in the United Kingdom, the [tangled steel encasement](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept) allows natural light to seep in, providing a warm and welcoming seat to lounge in. Made to be placed in the garden, this is an important feature since it also allows people to enjoy their natural surroundings more. The acrylic fabric seat offers an ergonomic perch to better enjoy the outdoors. Nest by Kirv is fully weather-proof and stain resistant. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Webbed Steel Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways to incorporate sustainable materials and creative designs into outdoor furniture. - **Natural Light Seeping In:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative architectural designs and materials that optimize natural light inside buildings and living spaces. - **Ergonomic Outdoor Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design and produce ergonomic outdoor furniture that combines comfort, durability, and weather-resistant features. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate sustainable and unconventional materials into furniture production processes. - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways to incorporate natural light into building designs and create spaces that promote well-being. - **Outdoor Recreation and Leisure:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor furniture solutions that enhance the user experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stainless Steel Reflective Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair.md) - [Metal Thread Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp.md) - [Minimal Wooden Webbed Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knot-stool.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Sleek Steel Structural Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/combchair.md) - [Arched Circular Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-chair.md) - [Curvaceous Outdoor Swings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niu-swing.md) - [Sculptural Metal Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pul-collection.md) - [Stylish Stackable Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nesting-chair.md)
