Creator Olga Philips of [Divine Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/divine) created the matrimonial dessert in less than two weeks. The cake is split in two halves with a number of fun and geeky references spilling out between them. The exterior is a traditionally tiered white wedding cake with a quilted texture and some floral detail. Within, a variety of different nerdy culture elements are visible. This includes the one ring from The Lord of the Rings, a Game of Thrones themed sword, a hippogriff featured in the [Harry Potter series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wizarding-world-cookbook), R2D2 from the Star Wars franchise, a Doctor Who tardis, Star Trek's Enterprise and a Blade Runner unicorn. There are also a number of banners and a Batman call signal. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Geeky Weddings:** Opportunity for unique and customized cakes featuring references to popular geek culture to become a trend in wedding cakes. - **Nerdy Desserts:** Desserts inspired by geek and nerd culture could be a trend for bakers and patisseries to explore. - **Fan Culture Cakes:** Custom cakes celebrating a variety of geek and fan cultures could be an emerging trend for cake designers and decorators. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bakery Industry:** Bakeries may tap into the trend of creating customized cakes featuring a reference to popular geek culture to better cater to their customer's needs and preferences. - **Wedding Planning:** Wedding planners may incorporate unique and customized cakes featuring references to popular geek culture as a part of a personalized and one-of-a-kind event plan. - **Event Planning and Decor:** Event decorators and planners could incorporate customized cakes featuring references to popular geek culture as a unique and personalized touch to events and celebrations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Game-Themed Cake Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/among-us-impostor-cake.md) - [Dual-Flavor Movie-Inspired Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-celebration-cake.md) - [Wedding Pizza Promotions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pizza-hut-6.md) - [Cheese Wheel Wedding Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowshill-cheese-wedding-cake.md) - [Lobster Roll Wedding Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lobster-roll-wedding-cakes.md) - [Character-Dessert Collab Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paris-baguette-kpop-demon-hunters.md) - [All-Occasion Layered Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cake.md) - [Playful Biscuit-Inspired Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/party-rings-celebration-cake.md) - [Design-Centric Dynamic Artful Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-cake.md)
