# Nail-Holding Household Tools The Jung Soo Park Neo Hammer Is Magnetic to Help Handymans Everywhere By Vivian Lau | Published 2012-05-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neo-hammer References: [fastcodesign](http://www.fastcodesign.com/1669847/nailed-it-hammer-solves-an-age-old-handyman-problem) & [youtube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vDfTeL_vFKk) The simplest inventions can make a world of difference, as Jung Soo Park demonstrates with his cleverly designed Neo hammer, a magnetic tool that will keep your nails in check. The concept is as simple as it sounds; this hammer has a [magnetic piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timate-gripngo-20) attaches to the bottom of the handle. The magnet can hold all of your [small nails](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/klhip), so all you have to do is bend over a little, hover the tool above the ground, and watch as it holds all of the pieces tightly. You will not have to worry about asking someone else to hand you [nuts or bolts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/titanium-multifunctional-magnetic-screwdriver), nor have to hold the dirty things in your mouth. The design is so simple and practical, it's a wonder as to why it's taken until now to be created. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Magnetic Hand Tools:** The development of magnetic hand tools creates new opportunities for safer, more efficient construction and manufacturing. - **Simplification of Traditional Tools:** The trend toward simplification of traditional tools is an opportunity to create more user-friendly equipment and increase productivity, while minimizing the danger of accidents. - **Small Scale Inventions:** The trend toward small scale inventions offers opportunities for innovators to improve upon everyday tools and appliances, ultimately making life easier for the end user. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Construction:** The magnetic hand tools are disruptive to the construction industry, allowing faster and safer completion of projects. - **Manufacturing:** The simplification of traditional tools is disruptive to manufacturing, allowing for streamlined processes and increased productivity. - **Diy/home Improvement:** The trend toward small scale inventions in the DIY/home improvement industry can result in the creation of more ergonomic and user-friendly tools for common tasks. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wearable Magnetic Tool Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-tool-holder.md) - [Magnetic Tool Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-tool-organizer-your-gateway-to-a-clutterfree-workspace.md) - [Design-Conscious Tool Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoto-tools-hand-tool-set.md) - [Modern Design-Conscious Power Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoto-36v-screwdriver.md) - [Compact Titanium Magnetic Screwdrivers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-screwdriver.md) - [Magnetic Document-Holding Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holder-desk-lamp.md) - [Space-Conscious Kitchen Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-kitchen-design.md) - [Mini Electric Detail Sanders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neosander.md) - [Ultra-Modular Magnetic Multi-Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/douglas-windeler.md)
