Instead of featuring a knitted surface, however, it's a play on the instruments used for the homey hobby. Created by British design firm Vitamin, the Needle Table Lamp cleverly shows its power cord to the world in a [colorfully wound yarn ball](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hat-collection). Available in blue, orange, green and red, it lets you have your own collection of disguised knitting necessities. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Granny-themed Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create modern interpretations of traditional granny-style decor items. - **Disguised Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate functional elements into everyday objects using clever disguises. - **Knitting Craze:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative knitting tools or accessories that cater to the growing interest in knitting as a hobby. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine traditional and contemporary elements to create unique and visually engaging home decor products. - **Product Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate unexpected and creative design elements into everyday products to enhance their appeal and functionality. - **Crafting Supplies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new materials, forms, and functionalities to revolutionize the knitting and crafting supplies industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Monkey Knot-Integrated Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/small-knot-pendant-lamp.md) - [Pencil Shaving-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharpener-lampshades.md) - [Geometric Nostalgic Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handmaid-table-lamp.md) - [Pasta-Inspired Curvaceous Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic-lamp.md) - [Interconnecting Component Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-table-lamp.md) - [Playful Table Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toto-lamp.md) - [Stackable Modular Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/module-table-lamp.md) - [Metal Thread Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp.md) - [Air Balloon-Inspired Lamp Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-balloon-lamp.md)
