While MIMA House has produced a number of impressive pre-fab dwellings, the company has outdone itself by designing its [smallest home yet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hirondelle-tiny-house). The MIMA Light is a [pre-fab farmhouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prefab-house-changeover) that sits in a middle of the grass field in Portugal. Aside from its ultra-compact size, what truly sets the home apart is its near-invisible base. The foundation of the home features mirrors on all sides that reflect the grassy surface beneath. This gives viewers the impression that the home is floating when viewed from a distance. The [levitating base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/levitae-house) ultimately gives the home a weightless look that perfectly blends into the tranquil countryside. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Pre-fab Homes:** Opportunity to explore new materials and design concepts for pre-fabricated homes, creating unique and visually striking dwellings. - **Invisible Architecture:** Potential for incorporating mirrors and reflective surfaces in architectural designs to create the illusion of invisibility and enhance visual aesthetics. - **Levitation Design:** Exploration of architectural designs that create the illusion of levitation through clever use of foundations and materials, giving structures a weightless and ethereal appearance. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** Architects can leverage the trend of pre-fab homes and invisible architecture to create innovative and visually captivating structures. - **Construction:** Construction companies can capitalize on the trend of pre-fab homes and levitation design to offer unique and eye-catching housing solutions. - **Real Estate:** Real estate developers can tap into the demand for visually striking homes by investing in pre-fab housing projects that incorporate invisible architecture and levitation design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Climate-Responsive Prefab Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-pod.md) - [Nature-Surrounded Miniature Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-mini.md) - [All-Glass Mesmerizing Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beaufort-bushland-retreat.md) - [Modular Tiny Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vettel-haus.md) - [Compact Space-Saving Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brava.md) - [Stacked Compact Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabini-edelweiss.md) - [Low Footprint Compact Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nano-micro-house.md) - [Minimal Portable Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paddock-paradise.md) - [Prefabricated Miniature Home Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cpsula.md)
