# Organic Strand Storage The Naturoscopie I Shelf Mimics Natural Forms on Many Different Scales By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-06-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naturoscopie-i-shelf References: [duendepr](http://www.duendepr.com/actualites/2012/06/08/galerie-bsl-naturoscopie-solo-show-noe-duchaufour-lawrance/?lang=en) & [noeduchaufourlawrance](http://www.noeduchaufourlawrance.com/) A rational arrangement of lengthy ledges expresses the Naturoscopie I Shelf's function as a [storage system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbox-modular-shelving), but sharply contrasts with the unpredictable structure of the supports that keep each plank level and evenly spaced. An [organic frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/siembra-capsule) of copper, carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb constructs a visually captivating lattice with its roots in [natural forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/supernatural). What's particularly fascinating is the way that the Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance piece appears to mimic the anatomy of the cell or of the bone, but also the vast patterns drawn from the spatial relationships of stars and constellations. Loops and turns connect different fibrous branches of the unique small-scale scaffolding, enclosing parts of surfaces, bearing others and creating compelling visual effects within the Naturoscopie I Shelf. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Organic Storage Solutions:** Incorporating organic, nature-inspired forms into storage systems to create visually captivating and unique designs. - **Structural Innovation in Furniture Design:** Exploring unconventional support structures and materials to create visually appealing and functional furniture pieces. - **Bio-inspired Interior Design:** Drawing inspiration from natural forms and patterns to create aesthetically pleasing and visually engaging interior design elements. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to incorporate organic and visually captivating storage solutions into their product lines. - **Home Decor and Interior Design:** Potential for designers and decorators to incorporate bio-inspired designs and innovative furniture pieces into their projects. - **Art and Sculpture:** Opportunity for artists to explore organic and nature-inspired forms in their sculptures and art installations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Progressive Storage Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-prt-collection.md) - [Customizable Style-Conscious Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-modular-shelf-system.md) - [Clock-Accented Shelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omega-shelf.md) - [L-Shaped Stacked Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-shelf.md) - [Sculptural Bookshelves Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf.md) - [Organic Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roots-collection-1.md) - [Modular Organized Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unit-shelving-system.md)
