# Organic Orb Playhouses This Intricately Woven Natural Tree House is Spherical in its Shape By Alyson Wyers | Published 2014-09-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/natural-tree-house References: [designtaxi](http://designtaxi.com/news/369388/A-Woven-Tree-House-That-Looks-Like-A-Giant-Magical-Nest-When-Lit-Up/) & [blog.tomhare.net](http://blog.tomhare.net/post/97302710046/tomharewillowman-the-cherry-tree-house-gets) This natural tree house design is probably unlike any tree-situated clubhouse you ever saw growing up. Designed by Tom Hare, the Cherry Tree House has a large [spherical shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belalu-dome-villa) made from woven branches. Located at the top of a small tree in front of a private residence, the organic structure recently had lights put in it. Photographed by Daniel Castledine, the orb takes on a stunning orange glow. The soft lighting also serves to show off the intricate nature of its construction. The natural tree house is made out of weaved willow wood, a favorite of Tom Hare's due to its "endless possibilities." While the playhouse is undoubtedly beautiful, it probably can't withstand any actual playing. It is nice to look at, however. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Natural Play Structures:** There is a growing demand for outdoor play structures made from natural materials, providing opportunities for eco-friendly and sustainable home builders and designers. - **Orbitecture:** Unique spherical structures like the Cherry Tree House are gaining popularity for their eye-catching design and potential for use as outdoor playhouses or glamping pods. - **Woven Wood:** The use of woven branches and wood for construction is an innovative approach to natural building materials, promoting opportunities for artisans and craftsmen in the industry. ### Where This Applies - **Home Construction:** Builders and designers can incorporate natural play structures like the Cherry Tree House into their eco-friendly home designs, creating a unique and attractive addition to backyards or outdoor spaces. - **Playground Equipment:** Playground equipment manufacturers can explore the use of natural materials like woven wood to create sustainable and unique play structures, expanding their market potential among environmentally-conscious consumers. - **Eco-tourism:** Orbitecture, including unique structures like the Cherry Tree House, could be used to create novel outdoor accommodations for eco-tourism ventures, providing travelers with a one-of-a-kind nature experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vaulted Structural Telescopic Treehouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artistree-home.md) - [Contemporary Conservationist Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sylvascope-treehouse.md) - [Cartoonish Tubular Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tubular-treehouse.md) - [Repurposed Wooden Shoreside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-house-by-the-lake.md) - [Solar-Powered Floral Garden Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tree-house.md) - [Solar Powered Luxe Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-baltic.md) - [Hidden Garden Timber Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-room-around-a-tree.md) - [Nature-Immersive Tranquil Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treehouse-villas.md) - [Wooden Surrounded Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omer-arbel.md)
