# Free-Flowing Freestanding Bars Nasvtia Bar Lounge Strives for the Fluidity of the Drinks it Holds By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-09-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nasvtia-bar-lounge References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/nasvtia-bar-lounge-by-nuvist/) & [nuvist](http://www.nuvist.com/works/nasvtia/) Whether or it's modern or antique, a bar typically incorporates a flat countertop, often with some storage space and a closed base. The Nasvtia Bar Lounge differs greatly from this model with its reluctance to assume any rigidity where it can be avoided. The contemporary Nuvist piece is essentially a sculpture with a practical second purpose. It would ideally be placed away from the walls of room so that it can be admired from all angles. The imaginative object incorporates a bulky bottom that sweeps up and around into a curvaceous complete loop. It's been finished with high reflectivity to play with the light around it. A two-tiered level surface to the Nasvtia Bar Lounge provides sufficient space to arrange full bottles of liquor, with the upper counter free to be used by those enjoying their cocktails. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Fluid Bars:** Innovative bars that challenge conventional rigid designs in favor of fluid shapes offer disruptive opportunities for interior designers as well as bar and restaurant owners. - **Freestanding Sculpture Bars:** Sculpture bars like Nasvtia Bar Lounge offer a unique and artistic alternative to traditional bar designs, creating disruptive opportunities for artists, sculptors, and interior designers. - **Reflective Surfaces:** Reflective materials used in bar decor provide disruptive opportunities for lighting designers to create new and innovative lighting schemes to highlight the beauty and fluidity of the bar's design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Hospitality:** Fluid and freestanding bar designs like Nasvtia Bar Lounge offer disruptive opportunities to bar and restaurant owners to create unique and memorable dining or drinking experiences. - **Interior Design:** Innovative bar designs like Nasvtia Bar Lounge offer disruptive opportunities for interior designers to create unique and visually striking spaces for their clients. - **Sculpture and Art:** Freestanding sculpture bars like Nasvtia Bar Lounge offer disruptive opportunities for sculptors and artists to create functional pieces of art that challenge traditional bar designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [American-Style Commercial Bar Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/commercial-bar-design.md) - [Stylish Bar Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bar-accessories.md) - [Playful Bar Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funny-bar.md) - [All-in-One Timber Bar Carts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moba-drinks-trolley.md) - [Fluid Wooden Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loop-furnitures.md) - [Warped Acrylic Bar Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/awt-bar.md) - [Nostalgic Sleek Sky Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peridot-bar.md) - [Luxurious Bar Carts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxurious-bar-cart.md) - [Outdoor Resin-Made Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suncast-backyard-oasis.md)
