Posted by Redditor kelseypolo, it documents her friends' fantastical decorating endeavor. After building their new home, they discovered they had extra space just beyond their 9-year-old daughter's bedroom. Instead of wasting it on something boringly practical, they decided to convert it into a playroom for their daughter. Thus, the Narnia-Themed Playroom was born. To enter it, the daughter must climb through a small hole cut into a [large wooden cabinet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eloise-collection) that looks suspiciously like the one in the novels. Once through, she enters a room with a [plush white carpet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-eternal-child) that mimics the expanse of white snow the Pevensie siblings first encounter when they enter the other side. There is also a large mural depicting Aslan. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Literature-themed Decor:** Opportunity for designers to create children's spaces inspired by classic novels. - **Interactive Play Spaces:** Opportunity for companies to create unique play spaces that ignite a child's imagination - **Imaginative Room Entrances:** Opportunity for designers to create unique and imaginative entrances to rooms ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** The Interior Design industry can expand into literature-inspired decor for children's rooms - **Playroom Retail:** Opportunity for playroom retail companies to create interactive play spaces for children - **Cabinet Manufacturing:** Cabinet manufacturers can expand beyond practical uses and create unique imaginative entrances to rooms ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Children's Story-Inspired Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/western-academy.md) - [Textile Igloo Bedrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takk.md) - [Tent‑Filled Daycare Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deya-day-care.md) - [Contemporary Playroom Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/randle-wall-climbing-handle.md) - [Whimsically Designed Hotel Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cowley-manor-experimental.md) - [Themed Hotel Rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/island-shangri-la.md) - [Play-Friendly Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-nook-modular-furniture-system.md) - [Spooky Interior Décors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-lamps.md) - [Fairytale-Inspired Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circu-mr-bunny-bed.md)
