The transportation solution consists of [two independent monowheel units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-diwheel) that can be paired with a footboard for riding in two different orientations. The scooter units can also be directly connected together to deliver more power or even separated to provide two riders with their own wheel for speeding around town. The conceptual 'NAO.WHEEL' is rounded out with a headlight and taillight to enhance overall visibility, while the hubless wheel design gives the transportation solution an ultra-modern profile. The space-saving personal transportation solution identifies how we could see equipment changing to better suit the needs of urbanites into the near-future. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 7.4/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 94% | Freshness: 30% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Transportation](https://www.trendhunter.com/transportation) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modular Micromobility Solutions:** Modular transportation devices, like the 'NAO.WHEEL,' enable flexible commuting options that can be customized for different urban travel demands. - **Hubless Wheel Innovations:** Hubless wheel designs, as seen in the 'NAO.WHEEL,' present a sleek and modern aesthetic while potentially reducing the bulk and improving portability. - **Multi-functional Urban Transport:** Devices that combine multiple functions, such as the 'NAO.WHEEL’s' ability to act as both a scooter and a hoverboard, address varied urban transport needs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Personal Electric Vehicles:** The rise of compact, electrically powered transportation solutions is revolutionizing the way urban commuters navigate crowded city streets. - **Urban Transportation Systems:** Innovative mobility devices like the 'NAO.WHEEL' can potentially reshape public and private transport networks within cities. - **Industrial Design:** Advancements in product design, particularly those focused on usability and versatility, are key elements driving forward-thinking urban transportation solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Single-Wheeled Modular Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-naowheel.md) - [Functional Urbanite Scooter Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timo-electric-scooters.md) - [Two-in-One Senior Mobility Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfdriving-wheelchair.md) - [Transforming Electric Unicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/titaa.md) - [Multifunctional Personal Mobility Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modi.md) - [Multi-Person Scooter Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scooter-platform.md) - [Senior-Supporting Mobility Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-mobility-skateboard.md) - [Unique AI Design Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rideable-aipowered-personal-assistant.md) - [Modular Tech-Rich Motorcycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bmw-motorrad-x-nvidia.md)
