# Sugar Pop-Metal Mashups This Carly Rae Jepsen/Nine Inch Nails Mashup is Ridiculously Catchy By Andrew Sztein | Published 2013-03-08 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nails-mashup References: [theverge](http://www.theverge.com/2013/3/4/4064574/nins-head-like-a-hole-mashed-with-call-me-maybe-is-perfect) & [soundcloud](https://soundcloud.com/pomdeterrific) Believe it or not, we still haven’t reached a total saturation point on the whole Call Me Maybe fad, because if we had, I wouldn’t be enjoying this Carly Rae Jepsen/Nine Inch Nails mashup as much as I am. Trust me, this will be stuck in your head all day -- tomorrow too, probably. It’s seriously shocking how well the harsh lyrics and the angry vocals of Trent Reznor from the song ‘Head Like a Hole,’ combined with the toe-tapping and catchy instrumentals of Call me Maybe. The Jepsen/Nails mashup in question here was put together by [SoundCloud](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soundcloud-store) user pomDeterrific. What’s it called? ‘Call Me a Hole,’ of course -- what else would it be? If headbanging along to Call Me Maybe is wrong, then after hearing this Nails mashup, I don’t want to be right. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Mashup Music:** Combine contrasting genres and styles to create unique and catchy music mashups. - **Unexpected Collaborations:** Pairing unlikely artists or songs to create a fresh and surprising musical experience. - **Viral Music Remixes:** Taking popular songs and remixing them in a way that captures people's attention and spreads rapidly on social media. ### Who This Affects Most - **Music Streaming:** Platforms that facilitate the discovery and distribution of innovative and unique music mashups. - **Digital Media Marketing:** Helping businesses leverage unexpected collaborations and viral remixes to promote their products or services. - **Event Management:** Organizing music events or festivals that feature mashup artists and remixes to attract diverse audiences and create a memorable experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Icy Mashup Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cinnabon-swirl.md) - [Iconic Halloween Candy Songs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candy-corn-1.md) - [Viral Mashup Condiments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ketchup-and-seemingly-ranch.md) - [Wearable Candy Nail Polishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sally-hansen-x-ring-pop.md) - [Popping Candy Cinnamon Rolls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cinnabon-x-warheads.md) - [Collaborative Rock Band Candies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haribo-linkin-park-gummy-mix.md) - [Popsicle-Polish Crossover Collaborations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daily-harvest-1.md) - [Playlist-Paired Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piecework-puzzle.md) - [Dynamic Rhythm Game Updates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crypt-of-the-necrodancer.md)
