Nadia Wicker is a true trailblazer in the photography department. She is constantly experimenting with new techniques others find difficult to replicate, but more importantly, she doesn’t use those gimmicky tricks as a safety net for producing less-than-magnificent images. It is for that reason that she gets featured on various online publications on a regular basis.

In this particular series, entitled ‘Valkea,’ Nadia Wicker alters self-portraits with [watercolor-like filters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/filtr) to achieve visuals reminiscent of paintings. Couple that with creative blurring, overlapping and other [photographic techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nonnas-cam) and you have an ethereal collection that’s pure euphoria to the eyes.

Curiously, many of Wicker’s works are self-portraits, yet she looks different in every series. It seems she is ever-changing not only professionally, but in her personal aesthetic choices as well.
