# Surreal Human Interactions Nader Sharaf Depicts Diversity Within a Crowd By Andrew Robertson | Published 2012-04-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nader-sharaf References: [themag.it](http://www.themag.it/inspiration/2012/illustrations-by-nader-sharaf.html) & [nadersharaf](http://www.nadersharaf.com/) Articulating human nature through the interjection of [animal interactions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog), these [illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1) by Nader Sharaf capture the intricacies of human socialization. Composed of seemingly unrelated individuals, these portraits present audiences with a wide range of characters and actions which build upon an escalating narrative. A particularly evocative image involves a group of characters, each one a seemingly self-contained entity -- no one appears to be interacting with each other. What's particularly fascinating is that among this diverse roster is a zebra. The zebra does not appear to be any more out of place than the man with the binoculars or the individual with a paper bag over its head. The drawing alludes to the [incredible amount of diversity](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflecting-diverseness) within a group of people and the tendency to remain self enclosed and contained rather than hospitable and interactive. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Articulating Human Nature:** Opportunity to explore the intricacies of human behavior and socialization through artistic expressions. - **Diversity Within a Crowd:** Opportunity to embrace diversity and promote inclusivity in social interactions and community building. - **Escalating Narrative:** Opportunity to create engaging and evolving stories that captivate audiences through sequential illustrations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to use art as a medium to challenge societal norms and spark conversations about human interactions. - **Psychology and Sociology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to deepen understanding of human behavior and social dynamics through the study of art, using illustrations as visual stimuli. - **Storytelling and Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to incorporate sequential illustrations and diverse characters into various forms of media to create immersive narratives. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Human Nature-Themed Art Galleries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sea-im-awake.md) - [Cartoonish NFT Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/i-like-you-youre-weird.md) - [Human Duality-Themed Abstract Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passive-aggression.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Thought-Provoking Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antibodies-installation.md) - [Perception-Challenging Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/becoming-familiar.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Wooden Identity Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hughmanity.md) - [Three-Part Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rhinoceros-gallery1.md)
