These are floor mats that have a modular format and protective build made for both indoor and outdoor use. It is designed to piece together as users please to keep in the playroom, office, home gym, or any space. This idea stemmed from the lifestyle changes that came with the pandemic. During this time, playrooms and offices were a common place to be and floor mats were a viable product but there were not many aesthetically pleasing options. Founder of Mylle, Kris Myllenbeck explains, “The market was dominated by extremes: mats for CrossFit workouts or mats for babies and toddlers. This problem was essentially begging me to solve it, no pun intended.” Image Credit: Mylle ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 22% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modular Protective Flooring:** In response to lifestyle changes, modular protective flooring solutions like MYLLE Puzzle Mats are disrupting the market with versatile and aesthetically pleasing designs for indoor and outdoor use. - **Personalized Interlocking Mats:** The customizable nature of interlocking floor mats allows users to create personalized protective padding solutions for various spaces, catering to individual needs and preferences. - **Multi-purpose Modular Mats:** The rise of multi-purpose modular mats presents innovative opportunities for versatile and adaptable floor protection solutions suitable for different environments and activities. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can explore incorporating modular protective floor mats as functional and stylish additions to interior design, offering customers a blend of utility and aesthetics. - **Fitness Equipment:** Fitness equipment manufacturers have the chance to integrate personalized interlocking mats into their product offerings, enhancing user experience and safety during workouts. - **Recreation Spaces:** Recreation spaces and facilities can capitalize on the trend of multi-purpose modular mats to create adaptable and safe environments for various leisure activities, attracting a diverse range of users. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable All-Purpose Floor Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-floor-mat.md) - [Play-Friendly Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-nook-modular-furniture-system.md) - [Foldable Fitness Mat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sculpt-society-x-stakt-mat.md) - [Sustainable Sensorial Play Pads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stokke-playpad.md) - [Comfortable Inclusive Carpet Tiles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modulyss.md) - [Uneven Athletic Training Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cobblefoam-by-optp.md) - [Puzzle-Inspired Kids Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palipeli.md) - [Extra-Cushioning Traditional Floor Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-touch-tatami-mat.md) - [All-in-One Ultralight Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultralight-mat.md)
