# Giant Anime Character Beds The My Neighbor Totoro Bed is Shaped Like the Giant Anime Creature By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2013-08-31 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-neighbor-totoro-bed References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/302148387652771143/My-Neighbor-Totoro-Bed) & [incrediblethings](http://www.incrediblethings.com/home/sleep-tight-in-a-totoro-bed/) The 'My Neighbor Totoro Bed' is made to look just like the big cuddly creature from the beloved animated film from [Studio Ghibli](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-ghibli-tea). Although it is just a comfy surface to sleep on, this bed is far from conventional -- it looks more like a [giant stuffed animal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anxiyeti) that could be won at a carnival. Just like in the anime, this Totoro-shaped bed is huge and can comfortably accommodate two. Totoro's tummy works as a sleeping bag and his tail can also be detached for use as a pillow. Kids may never want to leave this cozy bed; thankfully the cover can be washed separately from the stuffing. This is an adorable way for little anime lovers to curl up with this protective spirit of the forests. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 76% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Anime-inspired Furniture:** The My Neighbor Totoro Bed showcases the trend of anime-inspired furniture, offering opportunities for companies to create other popular animated character beds. - **Cozy and Playful Furniture:** The Totoro Bed represents the trend of cozy and playful furniture, indicating potential for companies to develop other unique and whimsical furniture pieces. - **Nostalgic Home Decor:** The Totoro Bed taps into the trend of nostalgic home decor by recreating a beloved animated character, suggesting possibilities for creating other nostalgic-themed furnishings. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** The Totoro Bed presents opportunities for the furniture industry to explore and capitalize on the growing market of specialty and novelty beds. - **Animation and Entertainment:** The anime-inspired Totoro Bed highlights potential for the animation and entertainment industries to collaborate with furniture manufacturers and license popular characters for unique products. - **Children's Products:** The My Neighbor Totoro Bed caters to children and presents avenues for companies within the children's products industry to develop innovative and imaginative furniture designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Anime Creature-Inspired Cushion Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anime-creatureinspired-cushion-bed.md) - [Anime-Inspired Tea Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-ghibli-tea.md) - [Anime Skateboard Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-neighbor-totoro-skateboard-clock.md) - [Manga-Inspired Sleeping Bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanga-attack-on-titan-sleeping-bag.md) - [Cartoon Creature-Themed Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rowlet-sofa.md) - [Cozy Animation-Themed Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghibli-bag-collection.md) - [Sensorial Anime Dolls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedhedz.md) - [Anime-Inspired Extensive Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ensky.md) - [Fairytale-Inspired Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circu-mr-bunny-bed.md)
