# Iced Plant Typography My Garden by Petra Blahova Recreates the Alphabet Using Frozen Flowers By Michael Hines | Published 2013-12-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-garden-by-petra-blahova References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/my-garden-a-beautiful-alphabet-of-frozen-flowers/) & [petragraphicdesign](http://www.petragraphicdesign.com/My-Garden) Fans of typography will be all over My Garden by Petra Blahova. Blahova has recreated the alphabet using ice and flowers. A variety of flowers were frozen in ice in the shape of letters. The result is a temporary alphabet that exists only as long as the ice the flowers are encased in does not melt. Blahova was inspired to create My Garden after noticing some flowers on a walk home from work. The designer worked with flowers of varying hues, but the overall look of My Garden is bright and colorful, and flower buffs may be able to recognize a few of the plants Blahova worked with. A lot of typography exists only online or on paper, which is why it's nice to see My Garden by Petra Blahova work with real-life objects. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Frozen Floral Typography:** Using frozen flowers to recreate the alphabet offers a unique and visually appealing way to showcase typography. - **Nature-inspired Design:** The use of real flowers and ice in creating typography provides a fresh and organic approach to design. - **Temporary Art Installations:** The temporary nature of the frozen flower alphabet creates a sense of impermanence and adds an element of surprise and ephemerality to art installations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Graphic Design:** Graphic designers can explore new avenues for typography by incorporating natural elements like frozen flowers. - **Floral Art:** Florists and artists can experiment with frozen flowers to create unique floral arrangements and installations. - **Event Planning:** Event planners can incorporate temporary and visually striking floral installations to create captivating experiences for guests. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stone Floral Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lithic-bloom.md) - [Water-Less Minimal Design Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/botnica.md) - [Modular Typography Stamp Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blockface.md) - [Alphabet DIY Gardening Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/succulent-letter-diy-kit.md) - [Modular Typography Stamp Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-typography-stamp-set.md) - [Typography-Inspired Lifestyle Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-industries.md) - [Typographic-Inspired Intricate Textiles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glyph-collection.md) - [Vibrant Dynamic Wall Plant-Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floos.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md)
