The Musical Torch is, however, much more than that. The name itself refers to the concept behind its creation, which was inspired by the classic baton used in [relay sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orchestra-park). The Musical Torch was conceived by MA Creative Practice For Narrative Environments students Alexander Schnell Sramek, Kevin Yeo, Seung Youn Lee, Elisa Magnini and Amy Wallace. But it was created with the help of [children from three Islington schools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflect-pavilion) as part of UK Cultural Olympiad‘s Music Nation.
