Basically it is [musical garbage can art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bucket-lid). Wilcox has rigged up a typical [foot pedalled garbage can](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dumpstuder-pencil-holders) with beautifully tuned [pieces of wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torch-t01) placed in a spiral around the bin, creating a xylophone effect. When the can in opened, or rather as the lid closes, a small steel ball is released. The ball travels down the spiral ‘playing’ a melody on the wooden xylophone.
