This unique piece of furniture actually functions better as the former rather than the latter. You can see why from the photo above. The Music Box Chair has a lot of protruding details and a seatless surface. The Music Box Chair has those knobs for a very specific and special reason. There are actually 11 [music boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snowie) built in to the chair, one of which appears to play the melody of 'What a Wonderful World.' I like that the Music Box Chair is really simple-looking. As though one big toy, its [minimal aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tanuvi-hegde) makes you question the red knobs even more, which would certainly propel people to try them out. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 20% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Interactive Furniture:** The Music Box Chair's built-in music boxes provide an interactive and engaging experience for users. - **Multifunctional Design:** The Music Box Chair demonstrates the potential for furniture to serve multiple purposes, combining relaxation and music. - **Minimalism and Intrigue:** The chair's minimal aesthetic and intriguing features highlight the value of simplicity and curiosity in design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The Music Box Chair opens up opportunities for furniture designers to incorporate interactive elements and embrace multifunctional designs. - **Home Decor:** The interactive and engaging nature of the Music Box Chair can inspire innovation in the home decor industry, creating unique and captivating pieces. - **Entertainment Technology:** The integration of music boxes into furniture like the Music Box Chair can spark innovation in the entertainment technology industry, exploring new ways to incorporate music into everyday objects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Lantern-Like Music Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reuge-onk.md) - [Natural Sound-Amplifying Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amplification-of-the-senses-chair.md) - [Musician-Friendly Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throne-x.md) - [Modular Table Seatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair.md) - [Coffee Ground Music Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christmas-music-box.md) - [Upcycled CD Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-disc-chair.md) - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Kinetic Musical Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/musical-bench.md) - [Tech-Infused Egg Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arne-jacobsen.md)
