# Mummified Elk Simon Kingston's Irish Elk Installation for the Electric Picnic Music & Arts Festiva By Jessica Marcel | Published 2010-03-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mummified-elk References: [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/public/individual_details.asp?individual_id=158281) Irish designer and artist Simon Kingston created his [Irish Elk Installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highwood-installation) for the Electric Picnic Music and Arts Festival. It's a...bizarre piece. The mummified elk appears to be rising from the ground (rising from the dead?) about to leap up in the sky. There's a cubby inside the mummified elk, cause it'd be so comfy to take a nap inside it. If this is any indication, the Electric Picnic Music and Arts Festival is something to behold. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Mummified Installations:** Opportunity to create unique art installations that capture attention and spark curiosity. - **Interactive Art Experiences:** Potential for immersive art experiences that allow people to interact with the artwork and explore its hidden features. - **Natural Materials in Art:** Growing trend of using organic and natural materials in art installations to convey a deeper message. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** Innovative opportunities for artists and designers to push the boundaries of traditional art forms and create captivating installations. - **Music Festivals:** Unique opportunities for music festivals to enhance the overall experience by incorporating engaging art installations that leave a lasting impression on attendees. - **Tourism and Event Management:** Opportunity to attract and captivate tourists and event attendees with one-of-a-kind art installations that become major attractions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gas Rig Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/striking-art-installation.md) - [Dynamic Public Artwork Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/born-to-be-wild-1.md) - [Futuristic Museum Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unnatural-history-museum-of-singapore.md) - [Festival-Based Mycelium Pavlions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayes-pavilion.md) - [Music Festival Fabric Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fabric-mushrooms.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Folk Creature Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog.md) - [AI Sound Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-sound-piece.md) - [UK-Based Modern Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/relics-in-the-landscape.md)
