# Futuristic Multi-Touch Mice The Wireless, Multi-Touch Mouse by ASUS Obeys Your Fingertips By Jen Chae | Published 2013-06-04 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multitouch-mouse References: [mashable](http://mashable.com/2013/06/03/asus-vivomouse/) & [techdigest](http://www.techdigest.tv/2013/06/asus_vivopc_and.html) [ASUS’s](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/influencerfocused-computer-mouse) new multi-touch mouse, called the VivoMouse, is bringing us a step closer to the future. Similar to [Apple’s](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-mouse-touch) Magic Mouse, the VivoMouse is wireless and thinner in shape, but the ASUS chose [aluminum as its material](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aluminum-mouse) to exude a space gadget-type look. The mouse’s track pad can read complex gestures, like pinching to zoom, rotate or open the menu toggle. The mouse has a wide circular touch pad on it; this is where you scribble multi-touch gesture commands. It can be used as a conventional mouse as well, but it would make a good wireless controller for living-room targeted systems. Alongside the mouse, ASUS also offers the VivoPC to pair the VivoMouse; a compact, aluminum PC that is ideal for HD video streaming. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multi-touch Interaction:** Opportunity for companies to redesign existing devices or develop new ones that embrace multi-touch interaction technology. - **Wireless Technology:** Companies in different industries can innovate by implementing wireless technology in their existing and future products or services. - **Smart Home Devices:** Disruptive innovation opportunities exist in the development of smart home devices, with multi-touch technology incorporated in them. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Computer Hardware:** Companies in the computer hardware industry can create products with multi-touch technology, providing consumers with a more intuitive interaction experience. - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can incorporate multi-touch technology in their devices to revolutionize the way we interact with technology. - **Home Entertainment:** Companies in the home entertainment industry can innovate by developing wireless-controlled systems that incorporate multi-touch technology, allowing users to have a more immersive experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intuitive Gesture-Control Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tactigon-skin-wearable-mouse.md) - [Screen-Equipped Computer Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-mouse-touch.md) - [Modular AI-Powered Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octoassist-mouse.md) - [Wearable Gesture-Based Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clip-mouse.md) - [Hybrid Interface Computer Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/computer-mouse-concept.md) - [Influencer-Focused Computer Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/influencerfocused-computer-mouse.md) - [Sleek Ergonomic Mouse Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-mouse-pro.md) - [Remote Presentation Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-finger-mouse.md) - [Pebble-Like Touchpad Mouse Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tapt.md)
